K chate sa dá dostať pešo, a to z rôznych smerov, pričom najčastejším východiskom je Štrbské Pleso. The route to Chata pod Soliskom leads along the trail from Štrbské pleso, through the Solisko Spa House on the blue trail (the ascent time is about 1.5 hours and the trail is 3.9 km long).

História Chaty pod Soliskom

Chalet pod Soliskom is the youngest alpine chalet in the High Tatras and is open all year round, 24 hours a day. 

It was built in 1944 on the southeastern slope of Predný Solisko and originally served mainly skiers. The building materials were delivered by sledge pulled by a ski lift, which shows the difficulty of the construction. The first chalet owner was the ski instructor František Bujak.

In the 1960s the cottage fell into disrepair and was closed for a time. It was rescued by a mountaineering group, which restored it. In 1970, a chairlift was added and access from Štrbské Pleso was modified, making it accessible all year round. After privatisation in 1995 it was renovated and today offers modern services with accommodation and meals.

Today, Chata pod Soliskom is a place that combines tradition and modern services. It is still a popular destination for tourists and skiers who enjoy not only the beautiful Tatra scenery, but also the comfort and hospitality of this unique chalet.

Sport and hiking in the surroundings

Jednou z najobľúbenejších letných trás je výstup na Predné Solisko (2 093 m n. m.), ktorý ponúka panoramatické výhľady na Vysoké Tatry, Podtatranskú kotlinu aj ikonické štíty ako Kriváň či Gerlach. Túra začína pri Štrbskom Plese a vedie po modrej značke k Chate pod Soliskom (1 840 m n. m.), kam sa dá dostať aj lanovkou. Odtiaľ trasa pokračuje po červenej značke až na samotný vrchol.
